Goals are necessary for achievement.
Yes, some folks can achieve great success without ever having set a goal, but they are few and far between. The idea of an overnight success grips us all at some point, but most of us get over it because we learn early on that nothing is truly an overnight success.
Today, we’ll talk a bit about SMART goals. And, I don’t just mean how to be smart about setting goals. Instead, I want you to learn how to understand SMART intentions and get them to work for you.
Nurturing Big Ideas wants you to be the success you’ve always dreamed of being. But, we don’t want you to struggle so terribly that you give up. Too many of us share our trials and tribulations as if they are badges of honor, and perhaps they are. “Look at this,” we say, proudly showing off our bruises and scrapes, as if the scabs are proof that we’re on the right track.
But, more important than any scab, any bruise, any bloody knee, is the laughter and joy at accomplishing a goal - knowing the trek, no matter how hard, was worth it.
Are your colors more vibrant? Is your design both eye-catching and inviting? Do you have a new - really new, not just new because you say so - process that will bring true success to your clients?
All of this helps you stand out.
But, nothing works as well as you being the stand out product of your business.
Is there any reason you can’t take five minutes a day to do a quick desk clean up? After a few days of five minutes a day, you will be able to see the top of your desk and your work life will be less chaotic.
I truly believe that desk cleanliness will lead to heightened effectiveness, efficiency and productiv
I, for one, don’t believe so many of us are clinging to nostalgia and refusing to move on, as we are so often depicted.
The reality is that women, especially, want more than they are being offered.
We want to be the boss.
We’ve put in our 20 years on the job and we’re moving on. Moving on to new independence, new creative endeavors, new businesses that remind us of who were were when… when no one trampled on our ideas and pushed us aside because we were women.
