Many of the women I interview on Nurturing Big Ideas Today, women I value as smart and talented, are friends I’ve known for years and years. If that teaches you nothing else, let it teach you this - women support each other and developing a network of smart, talented women will do you good down the road.
Are you a bit overwhelmed with emails - watching hundreds come dinging into your mailbox every morning, noon, and night?
If you are, you’re like hundreds of other small business women who feel overwhelmed with all the content being thrown at them, like rice at a wedding.
It’s time to stop. Stop! STOP! JUST STOP!
I have to say this conversation was full of the kind of energy and learning we should each enjoy, every morning of our lives. I can tell you, re-watching the conversation brought smooth beams of warm sunlight into my office.
Part of the joy was in the topic of conversation - dogs. I could talk about dogs (and cats and gerbils and guinea pigs, etc) all day. Life is just better with pets.
In this conversation, the topic of art looms large. Are you artistic? Catriona shares a great story of how she never thought what she did was artistic, but she finally learned, maybe she realized it one morning when her view of what art is and what it isn’t changed, that she is as artistic as any of us.
No matter how much you want to say your pets are people, “My dog is my child.” Or, “Pets are family.” when push comes to shove, no one will consider them so. In the end, during or after a disaster, however major or minor, (mine is minor, foot surgery and back problems in the same week…well, this too shall pass and I will be all better soon), if you have not made a plan for your pets’ care, the universe will do it for you and I, personally, do not trust the Universe.
Wendy is so purely honest about where she started and how she came to the place she is at today, it will resonate with millions. I am sure of that! (millions will not see it unless YOU share, dear reader - so, do share, please)
Interestingly, while she talks about her career as a journalist and content director, it’s her story about Supermarket News that takes the day.
This Smart Woman Conversation is fully focused on ladies who are in the entrepreneurial mindset. But, it’s also a conversation for all women. Shawna mentions the way we are all “uniquely, wonderfully us!”
Having known Shawna for more than 10 years now, and so proud to say I was the 2015 Woman of the Year in the Women in the Pet Industry Network, I am more than proud and delighted to share this great time, all 21 minutes or so of it.
