Nurturing Big Ideas became my brand when I realized, after years of working in influencer marketing, that I missed helping people write books. Not just giving them the tools, but being hands on, as a coach. 

Today, I'm a business coach and advisor, and work as a developmental editor for professionals who are writing books that will make a difference in the world. They are sometimes confused about the process, or afraid to put their ideas out there - after all, who will read their book?

I am focused on business professionals with a story to tell. I am determined to help more of them write good books. Not reports - books with engaging stories and messages that can help transform their readers' lives. 

And, for those little parts I don't do on my own, I have a talented, professional team behind me.

Books aren't a thing of afternoons. There are talented groups out there who will help you write your book in 90 days, but that's not me. There is meat to the books I produce. There is research that only the author can do. There are stories only the author can tell. My job is to help you identify the research, the stories, and the meat of the book you will present to the world in your book launch.

BELIEVE IN IT...

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine, or believe, I would be Woman of the Year for anything, anywhere, at any time! And then I was.

The picture from 2015 is from the night I was honored - awarded - the title Woman of the Year in the Pet Industry Network.

I cherish that night like no other. I may have to write a book about it, someday. 

I didn't plan on being woman of the year. But, I was. I didn't have a speech ready. I looked around the room when they called my name, and finally, my daughter gave me a nudge and said, "That's you. They're calling your name."

Me!?! Really? Me? I didn't believe it! And that proved, later on, to be silly of me. Because I deserved it. I had built something wonderful in the pet space (BlogPaws, a pet influencer community that was acquired by a Fortune 500 company), and I had become a person to know, in that space. I was just too lost in the past, where unkind people criticized me and made me believe I would/could never succeed. 

Walking up to that podium to receive my award was harder than almost anything else I've ever had to do. My feet were like heavy stones that struggled to drag me down as I climbed the three steps to the stage. But I made it. All the way. I did. And, I accepted that award with a smile as big as the entire universe! It will forever be the most valuable thing to talk about on my resume, in public speaking, or anywhere else I share my story.  

Why am I telling this story?

Because it taught me to believe in myself and in my leadership skills. It helped move me from inaction to action. Understand, I had already written a successful book, and been the founder of a successful publishing business, but this - an award announcing I was Woman of the Year - it opened my eyes to realizing I had the talent, the magic, and the know-how to be whatever I chose to be, from that moment forward.

You don't need an award to finally believe in yourself. You have me. I believe in you. I know there is talent and magic in you. I know there is a story to tell. I can nurture you gently and purposefully, to get that story out. It's a process. Simple and sincere, but still a process.
